By -

If your morning starts with calls from people convincing you get a bank loans, then there’s a good news for you. TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has launched an Android app that allows smartphone users to register their mobile number under DND to avoid Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) that involves Telemarketing Calls and SMS.

On the first run, the app automatically fetches the subscriber mobile number. In case it doesn’t, you get an option to fill it in. Once the number is registered, you can easily report telemarketing calls and SMS. UCC complaints will be sent to 1909 through messaging service only and user will not charged.

Like most government apps, this one has a gaudy colour scheme and plenty of bugs. On the bright side, it does what it says. You can download the app by following this link.
