Top Smartphones Under Rs 10,000 (July, 2016)

By -

Every other technology website publishes a list of ten phones worth buying for a certain price range. Noble thought, but the problem is that it does not really help a reader. If a buyer has already shortlisted five to six phones, such lists add up to their confusion. The point here is to end the confusion and recommend products that are absolutely worth the price. Enough of philosophy, let’s get down with the best phone you can own without crossing the Rs 10,000 mark.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
Price: Rs 10,000
The Redmi Note 3 is metal-clad smartphone that does not cost a bomb. The affordable handset comes with a fancy 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen. It is powered by the Snapdragon 650 chipset. The phone comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. You can add more storage via the microSD card slot. The 16 megapixel camera is quite a downer. However, considering its overall performance and impressive battery life, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a good deal for Rs 10,000. The best part is that at least for this phone, Xiaomi has let go of the flash sale model.

Moto G (3rd Gen)
Price: Rs 9990  (
Motorola is the new Samsung. The company builds capable phones that completely lacks a design flair. As far as the Moto G is concerned, we think it looks acceptable for its price. Its expensive sibling, Moto X Play will have to dress better to make it to this list. The current generation Moto G sports a 5″ HD LCD screen. It is powered by Snapdragon 410 chip. It has 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, and microSD card slot. The 13 megapixel rear camera is decent. The dual-SIM phone supports 4G LTE. It comes with stock Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS.

Samsung Galaxy On5
Price: Rs 8900
For years, the Korean giant Samsung struggled to deliver a sub 10k phone that does not lag. Not any more though, as its new Galaxy On5 is in-fact a great budget phone with 4G connectivity. The phone features a 5-inch HD screen. The phone runs Android v5.1 (Lollipop) OS with TouchWiz on top of it. It is powered by a 1.3 Ghz Exynos quad-core chip with 1.5 GB RAM. It has got an 8 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel for selfies, microSD card slot, and 2600 mAh battery.
