Rogue One “Celebration Reel” Shows The Emphasis On Practical Effects

When you buy a studio for $4 billion, the priority is to recover as much money as possible. That’s exactly what Disney is planning to do with Lucasfilm’s Star Wars. The Mickey Mouse company has pans to make a bunch of movies that set in the Star Wars universe. However, they are not part of the main trilogy. The first one in the series is Rogue One. This upcoming Star Wars movie is not a sequel to The Force Awakens. It is a story of a band of resistance fighter that takes place inside the Star Wars universe.

What worries me more is the fact that Director, Gareth Edwards, has stated that the movie is different than other Star Wars films. It is more of a war film with human angle. Well, he said a similar thing about the last Godzilla (2014) movie. We all know how incoherent and dull that movie turned out.

The movie’s “celebration reel” has made its way to the YouTube. Going by that video, one thing sure looks promising is the emphasis on practical effects. The film is set to release in December, so right now the fans have to make do with this clip.
