Driving Licence Goes Paperless In Hyderabad

By -

Have you ever been stopped by a traffic police, only to realise that you forgot your licence at home? Well, that is no more going to be a problem for at least two-wheeler riders in Hyderabad. Telengana’s transport department has launched a RTA m-Wallet that lets the riders upload the required documents online. These documents, once verified, are accepted during the police checks.

With this app installed on their phones, the bikers will no longer have to carry a driving licence, Insurance papers, and even RC book. Smartphone is the right choice because people carry it absolutely everywhere. The move will also save paper as you won’t have to make multiple copies of the transport papers any more. Let’s hope that more states follow the suite and make things convenient for people.

The app is created by a Hyderabad-based startup, Radikal Tribe. It is free to download and is currently available on Android. The only problem I see here is that it won’t be convenient for people riding their friend’s scooter. In this case, papers seem a better option. Oh and let’s not forget how your smartphone switches off when you need it the most.

Folks in Hyderabad can download the app by clicking here.
